Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to book with us, sign a waiver, and take part. This page sets out what we are aiming for, where we currently fall short, and how to reach a person who can help.

Section 01

Our commitment

Jardine Entertainment LLC d/b/a RageScape is committed to making our website and our venue usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, keyboard-only navigation, or captions.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time project. Nobody should have to explain their disability to take part in something we sell to everyone else.

Section 02

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. That is the benchmark referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, and it is the one we measure ourselves against.

We are not claiming that every page currently meets it. Parts of this site were built before we adopted that standard, and parts of it are supplied by other companies whose code we do not control. Saying otherwise would be easy and would be untrue. If you hit a barrier, it is a real barrier and we want to know about it — see Section 03.

Section 03

What we have done

  • Pages are built with real headings, lists, and landmarks so that screen readers can move through them in a sensible order, rather than styled text that only looks like structure.
  • Text is sized in relative units and reflows when you zoom or use a larger default font, and the site is usable on a narrow screen without horizontal scrolling.
  • Body text is set light-on-dark at contrast levels intended to meet WCAG AA, and we correct contrast problems as we find them.
  • Forms, buttons, and links can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
  • Our waiver can be completed on your own phone at home, ahead of your visit, rather than at a counter under time pressure.
  • An accessibility toolbar is available on every page, offering contrast, text size, spacing, an easier-to-read typeface, a reading guide, paused animation and read-aloud. Read aloud uses your browser’s own voice — it is a reading aid, not a screen reader. If you use JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver, keep using those; the toolbar will not interfere with them. It changes how the site looks on your device only, sets no cookies, makes no network requests, and nothing about your settings leaves your browser.
  • In August 2026 we audited every page against WCAG 2.1 AA, using an automated scan plus a manual keyboard walkthrough that no automated tool can replace. The walkthrough is what caught the worst of it: our Book Now button was built as a clickable image rather than a real link, so it could not be reached by keyboard at all. Anyone navigating without a mouse hit a dead end at the one button that matters most. That is fixed, along with several other images that could be seen but not activated.
  • The same audit corrected colour contrast across the site. Our footer phone number and email address — the two things you would need in order to ask us for help — were the least readable text on the page, at roughly a third of the contrast the standard requires. So were the comparison prices on our deals page. Both are fixed.

To be straightforward about that last point: a toolbar of that kind is a convenience for some visitors. It is not a substitute for the site itself being accessible, and we do not treat it as one. Where the underlying page is wrong, we fix the page.

Section 04

Where we know we fall short

Listing these is more useful to you than a blanket claim of compliance:

  • Booking and payment. Our scheduling and checkout run on Acuity Scheduling, a third-party platform whose code we cannot change. It sits in a frame on our page, which means no tool of ours — including the accessibility toolbar — can reach inside it or alter it. We tested it in August 2026: a keyboard user can complete a booking, the month controls are properly labelled, and unavailable dates are correctly skipped over. Two faults we cannot fix ourselves: the weekday letters above the calendar are printed in a grey so dark they are effectively unreadable, and each date is announced to a screen reader as a bare number with no month or year. We have reported both. If any part of booking is unusable for you, call or email and we will take the booking and payment directly.
  • ID verification on the waiver. The fastest route asks you to scan the barcode on your ID with a phone camera, which will not suit everyone. It is optional: staff can verify your ID in person at the desk instead, and no scan is required.
  • Signing. The waiver asks for a drawn signature. If drawing on a screen is not practical for you, ask us for a paper copy — you are entitled to decline to sign electronically, and the waiver itself says so.
  • Embedded and social content. Video, maps, and social media embeds come from other platforms and may not carry captions or labels we control.
  • Older images and documents. Some images published before we adopted this standard may still be missing descriptive alternative text. We are working through them.

Section 05

Getting help from a person

If anything on this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, you do not have to work around it. Contact us and a member of staff will do it with you or for you — including booking your session, taking payment, completing the waiver, and answering questions about the experiences.

There is no charge for assistance, and you do not need to tell us why you need it.

Section 06

Visiting in person

Here is what the building is actually like, so you can decide before you book rather than find out on arrival.

  • Getting in. The entrance is step-free.
  • Parking. Accessible parking is available.
  • Restroom. The restroom is accessible.
  • Getting around. Every space in the venue is accessible.

The rage room

Breaking things makes a mess, and debris on the floor changes how easy the room is to move around in. Ask staff to sweep at any point and they will — as many times as you want, at no charge, and without it eating into your session. You do not need to give a reason.

The escape room

This is the one with a real physical demand: the puzzles involve handling pieces of various sizes, and some of them ask for finger dexterity. That is not a barrier here. Tell staff and they will pause your game clock while they help — including entering codes for you once you have worked them out. Solving the puzzle is your achievement; the fiddly part is ours to take care of.

Staff are on hand throughout and will help in whatever way makes the visit work for you. If you would like to talk any of it through beforehand, contact us and we will describe anything this page does not cover.

If we ever cannot make a particular activity work safely for you, we will say so plainly rather than let you find out on arrival.

Section 07

Telling us about a problem

We aim to reply within two business days. If your message is about something blocking a booking or a waiver, say so and we will treat it as urgent — and in the meantime we can take the booking and payment directly by phone.

We would rather hear it than not. Email ragescaperooms@gmail.com and tell us:

  • the page or the part of the booking or waiver where it happened;
  • what you were trying to do;
  • what went wrong, and any assistive technology, browser, or device you were using.

None of that is required — write as much or as little as you like — but it helps us reproduce the problem and fix it rather than guess at it.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility messages within five business days, and to tell you what we intend to do and roughly when. Suggestions for improving the site are just as welcome as reports of things that are broken.

Section 08

How this page is kept current

We review this statement when the site changes materially and at least once a year. The date at the top is the last review, not the date it was first written, and previous versions are retained.

Axe throwing and line dance at the same address are run by Chopscape LLC, a separate company. If you are visiting Chopscape as well, its accessibility statement is at chopscape.com.

This statement describes our current practices and the standard we are working toward. It is not a legal opinion and it is not a claim of full conformance with any standard. Jardine Entertainment LLC, Oceanside, California.
